Routes 2: The Journey Continues
Have you got the courage of your convictions? How should we be doing evangelism? What’s penal substitution? These and other questions are being dealt with in Routes 2, a 10-session discipleship course that’s currently taking place Sunday evenings at St George’s until May. The first 3 sessions have considered how the world regards Christians and examined the real-life stories of Olympic runner Eric Liddell and Joni Eareckson Tada, who has been quadriplegic since a diving accident in 1967. Their life stories serve as powerful examples of how God uses ordinary people and challenging personal circumstances to achieve extraordinary things.
The 4th session picks up on March 21, looking at individual versus corporate responsibility. This would be the last chance to join the current course. As each session builds upon the previous one, we would ask that anyone wanting to join the course at this stage be willing to commit to following the journey through to the end.
The subsequent sessions are as follows:
- Session 5 (March 28). Reflective practice, using a prayer journal.
- Session 6 (April 18). Identifying gifts, personal action plans.
- Session 7 (April 25). Penal Substitution: Making informed decisions, how to be objective, how to analyse and weigh arguments.
- Session 8 (May 2). Approaches to Homosexuality: Making informed decisions, how to be objective, how to analyse and weigh arguments.
- Session 9 (May 16). Evangelism: How to reach out? What should we being doing?
- Session 10 (May 30). Interfaith Dialogue: plenary, answering questions.
