Council Welcomes 2 New Members

Welcome, Ed (left) and Andy (right)!

Ed Lewis, from Australia, and Andy Frankland, from the UK, have been appointed as two new members of St George's Church Council. The church is governed by lay members who have been nominated, seconded and elected by fellow members of the congregation listed on the church’s official Electoral Roll. Elections take place once a year at the Annual Church Meeting, the latest one of which was held on 18 April 2010. The Council takes decisions related to church policy, procedures and protocols, and votes on how the church should spend its money, which derives from the giving of its members.

Ed is active in organising the Txoko men's fellowship group, serves as a youth leader, and was the craftsman responsible for creating the new church gate. Andy is one of the organisers of George's Teenz, helps to run the sound board on Sundays, and has initiated a prayer and discipleship group for men. We look forward to the new contributions these two faithful church members will bring to their new roles on the Council.

Please pray for Ed and Andy as they take up their new roles. And watch this space as the Council reports back on its activities more often, in response to requests in the recent church survey for more open communication about what the Council does.
