Men's Groups
Txoko: Borrowing its name from the Basque word for a local social club, this Spanish-speaking group is open to all types of men, whether you come to St George’s or not. Held at various times throughout the year, usually on a Friday night, we may go bowling or shoot some pool, then out to eat afterwards somewhere in the city. All nationalities and ages welcome – good for foreigners who want to practice their Spanish/Catalan (or for locals who want to practice their English with native speakers from around the world). A great way to invite Spanish/Catalan friends to non-religious activities. Contact: Bob Flory or Ed Lewis.
Men’s Fellowship Group: This group for Christian men meets occasionally to pray together and share struggles and concerns that men go through, in a safe, relaxed, no-holds-barred environment with other Christian men. It’s a group that grew out of a need that men in the church had expressed to support one another and to communicate openly with others who could relate. Meetings take place in the church or in members’ homes, with ongoing contact maintained through emails, phone calls and texts. Contact: Andy Frankland to find out about the next meeting.
